five on friday :: 4th of july desserts

happy july everyone!  while we're on the subject of recipes, i've been looking around the web to find some 4th of july desserts to make that both look cute and taste great.  i haven't made up my mind which one i'm making, but here are the options.

1.  pretzel rod sparklers
i've made chocolate covered pretzels before and they are so easy and festive.  and i love the sweet and saltiness of this treat.  don't they look adorable?  personally i would put a lot more chocolate on them.

2. red, white, and blue parfaits
might be a bit much to make.  would consider making this with jello and whipped cream though.  i can't get over how beautiful this looks.

3. mini flag cheesecakes
ooh, this one is at the top of the list.  i love individual desserts and these are so cute.  and um, cheesecake?  it's been a while since i've had some.

4. patriotic strawberries
after making the ones for my sister's shower, these would be easy to do.  plus, i still have some chocolate left over.

5. red, white, and blueberry trifle
i've had a little experience with trifles.  i think i can whip out the bowl again and give it a go hoping it will come out this pretty.  and it's healthy.  it's a win win in my book.

you'll have to wait until next week to see what i made.  if you try any of these recipes out or have one of your own that you love, please share.

have a great weekend.  hope it's filled with celebration.

They are ALL great!!! Definitely more chocolate on the "sparklers"! The parfaits would probably go together quickly if you piped the layers in. That way you're not spending a lot of time trying to keep it off the sides, or cleaning up the sides. Who doesn't like cheesecake?! Strawberries might not hold up if you're taking them someplace hot. The trifle is gorgeous. OK -- now I'm hungry! Can't wait to see which one is the winner!
