five on friday :: weekend to do list

1.  middle school dance - jordan is going to another dance at his school.  the theme is mardi gras.  today i am making 120 mini cupcakes with buttercream frosting and yellow, purple, and green sprinkles. jordan spent the last middle school dance talking to a friend, eating junk food, and avoiding dancing with the spanish teacher (she vowed to make everyone dance.)  i'm sure he'll have just as good a time tonight.

2. sandy's 40th birthday party - my sister-in-law is having a 60's theme birthday party to celebrate this momentous occasion.  i wanted to find an outfit a la mad men but couldn't pull it together.  oh well.  looking forward to hanging out with the family and taking lots of pictures.

3.  opening day of baseball - saturday morning andrew and bobby will participate in the festivities of the first day of little league.  he's on the cardinals.  this made bobby a bit uneasy at first, but he's over it i think.  first time he's coaching and he's doing a great job so far.  then in the afternoon it's the first game of the season.  we'll be rooting both of them on.

4.  costumes for willy wonka - the 3rd and 4th grade chorus will be oompa loompas in this year's play and i am on the costume committee.  i will be traveling from target to target getting my hands on every green felt hat and white knee sock that i can find.  they are going to look so cute.

5. talk myself out of getting an ipad2 instead of new camera gear - i mean really. who puts out a new version of this thing when the one bobby got for his birthday is only 3 months old?  i don't need it right? but i'm not sure i can resist the colors.  but i've been saving so long for the gear.  but it's so darn cute. it's terrible i know.
