the happy list:: 07

it's been a while and i have a lot to be happy about.  here are just a few of the thins bringing me joy..

the happy list

1. rest
taking a break from running to let my body heal and rest.  i have a few little injuries that need time to heal.  i'm not happy to not be running, it's actually been hard this week. it has become such an important part of my day. but i'm happy to let my body heal.  it's kind of a gift for what i put it through.  i'm back at yoga and that makes me happy too.

2. salad
if i'm not exercising and burning up to 1,600 calories then i have to eat right.  this salad has been the perfect lunch for the last few days.  turkey, romaine, green bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, black olives, pepperocini and shredded mexican cheese blend.  add some light balsamic dressing and it's a perfectly light meal.  *i took this picture before i added the croutons.  i have to indulge a little, right?

3. top 10
andrew handed this to me on mother's day as an afterthought .  i read it and cried.  things like this mean more to me than any hallmark card.

4. 31 things
i started this class by one of my favorite teachers yesterday.  i'm looking forward to practicing my writing and getting some stories told.

5. hamburger rolls
make them, eat them, enjoy them.  they are good! we had turkey burgers and i made these rolls. they were amazing.  so much better than store bought.

6. olympic festival
our year long theme at school is the olympics.  the kids have been competing all year for points to earn a medal.  today it culminates with a festival that will include a performance from each of the countries, games, international food, art show and vendor fair.  i love the olympics, so this is a way to be close to the real thing.

i am planning a couple of running posts next week with thoughts on the experience.  have a great weekend.
