last few days at the pool - we are wrapping up swim team season. although it has been hard getting to the pool 3 times a week, the time spent here was good for everyone.
- time to sit for an hour and listen to the swimmers do their drills. i find that very relaxing.
- time for andrew to do his homework.
- time for sofia to play with sam, a friend she made at the pool.
- time to listen to a podcast on my iPhone.
- time to write lists and schedule appointments.
- time to read a magazine.
- time to watch the sunset.
- time for sofia and andrew to run around and play together.
- time to chat with other moms.
- time to watch jordan progress and actually enjoy himself (even when it was torture 10 day)
we are lucky that the weather has been in our favor for the most part. it wasn't too hot in the summer and it wasn't miserable in the fall. we'll miss it but are ready for it to be over.

time with friends - we met up with our friends from sacramento who were in town. we took them to our favorite mexican place for nachos and quesadillas. and then we went to the park for some football and the vicious teetertotter. i love hanging out with them. but the time is always too short. we talk politics and movies and school and kids and always try to plan a time to get together again. i know the boys love being together and sofia just makes herself fit in. i miss them dearly but am thankful for any time we get to spend together.
november 6 & 7
mother and son campout - saturday night the boys and i went to cha for the first annual mother and son campout. the campus is perfect for this type of event, it looks like a summer camp. we set up our tents on one of the hills and hung out with the other moms and sons. we ate hot dogs, played flashlight tag, led the campfire songs. so thankful for the years spent in y-guides because we had a good list of songs to present to the group. and they loved it. we searched for cat eyes around campus, made s'mores and then went to bed. i was pretty proud of myself for getting the tent up. and i only called bobby once. it was a cold night but we survived.
sunday morning the little ones got up way too early and with daylight savings ending, it was really early.
we had pancakes for breakfast and then packed up our stuff and went home. i hope this becomes an annual event that gets bigger and bigger. it was fun spending time with the boys. and i think they had fun spending time with me too.
happy monday everyone.
