HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday dear Sue, Andrew, Mesha, Derek and Mike.
Happy Birthday to you!
We had so much fun (as usual) at the Brockett birthday party for all the April and May birthdays. Opening all of the gifts was crazy but fun. I didn't get very many good pictures, sorry Melissa.
Andrew was so excited to be celebrating his birthday early. He has been asking me everyday "How many days until my birthday?" I think this celebration may have confused him, but today he reminded me that he is still 4 years old.
A little crazy this week with Jordan's First Communion on Saturday. So thankful to our friends Jay and Marisol for hosting the party at their house. I know it is going to be beautiful. Got Jordan's outfit on Friday. No suit. Slacks, white shirt and a clip on tie. Cheesy, but with his gag reflex, I'll be glad if he keeps it on.
It really feels like the last couple of months have gone by so fast. And it is continuing to move fast. I am just trying to keep up.
Right now we are in the backyard where: Jordan is doing his homework and working on a dinosaur project. He will miss school tomorrow for a Dr's appointment (more on that tomorrow) so the teacher sent home some classwork. Sofia is playing on the slide and running around telling me to "get down"; that's her new phrase. She just got her foot stuck in a toy tractor. Andrew is building a home for the ants with rocks and leaves. He is eating an orange from our tree and feeding them the peels . They must have read a book at school because he wants to know where they live, what they eat, if they like water. I love when he comes home asking questions; really makes me think too. Thank God for Wikipedia.

3 out of 5
3 of us woke up coughing this morning. I've had a bit of a cold for a while now. Sofia now has it and she woke up at 5 AM coughing and crying. And now Andrew has a stuffy nose. Could it be this harsh change in weather? Raining and cold one day and wearing shorts the next. We skipped out on a field trip to the strawberry patch with Andrew's class this morning. No one wants us hanging around coughing and sneezing.
Despite that I had a fun day today. I happened to check in on someone's blog this morning and I got sucked into this contest to win a bunch of scrapbooking items. We had to guess what this lady had for breakfast, silly I know. I didn't guess the right answer but I posted a comment that lead to the right answer. So she emailed me and said that she was sending me the goodies TOO! I was so excited. If you've ever bought scrapbooking items, you know that it can get pricey. So I'm always up for something free. In case you are wondering the answer was popcorn dipped in nutella.
Thought I would share some pictures of Sofia enjoying one of her favorite snacks, yogurt.
Here she is feeding herself with a spoon. She is refusing to sit in her high chair these days, time for a booster already?
Here she is really enjoying every last bit of the yogurt.
Here she is upset that it's all done. Maybe I need to get bigger portions. The girl can eat.
At her 18 month check up she finally hit the 20 pound mark. She is small for her age despite the fact that she eats like a mad woman.
Tomorrow I am off to get Jordan's outfit for his first communion next week. Not sure how he will react to the tie requirement.
The boys are keeping themselves busy. Jordan is reading his non-fiction book for his book report. He chose to read "Is There Life on Mars". Which is interesting because he can barely get through E.T. because he thinks it's scary. It makes for some fun dinner conversations.
Andrew is learning how to spell out words and write them on his magna doodle. He just asked me how to spell "I love you cause you are overdramatic." I don't know where he comes up with this stuff.

HELLO!!
So excited to finally get going on this blog. It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. What a great way to keep in touch with everyone and let you all know what is going on in our lives. Every morning I check out other people's blogs and see what they are up to. So I thought, why not? I love taking pictures of our everyday and I would love to share that with all of you. Sometimes I will post thoughts or stories, maybe just some photos, maybe a scrapbook page. Some of you will find the post more interesting than others and sometimes I will post just so I can remember what happened that day. Either way it should be fun.
I am sure you will see this page evolve over the next few months as I get used to (and happy with) the format. I'm trying not to bother Bobby too much with technical questions and really just make this something that I do and learn and experiment. Honestly, right now it's just about getting started. So enjoy and please let me know what comments you may have.
Here are a few shots from the last few days.
Sofia is learning to do a somersault. She will do it anywhere which can be kind of scary sometimes. But the look on her face when she is done is priceless.
We went to Vasquez rocks on Sunday for an Indian Guides event. It was so cold and windy and rainy that we ended up going home. Bobby bought an Easy-Up to shield us from the sun (ha ha) but it ended up keeping us dry from the rain. The boys did hike up the rocks, while our friend Marisol and I watched in horror. That's why they don't let mom's into this group.
Every year at Springtime we have birds that build nests in our backyard. This year we have already had three baby birds born before easter, two more born just a few weeks ago and a new nest in our artificial tree on the patio. The kids love to watch the babies get fed by the momma bird. It's so cute to hear them chirping in the morning. But all that bird poop we (and by we, I mean Bobby) have to clean up afterwards, not so fun.
Last week, on a very rainy Friday, we had mom and grandma's day at Andrew's preschool. Needless to say Andrew had the most grandmas show up, my mom, Sue and Diana. The kids are so fortunate to have their grandparents close by and really involved in their everyday lives. Thank you for that. This is a drawing that Andrew made for the event. That's me with the brown eyes and the long legs and my three groovy and very green kids.
Last but not least, wanted to send Birthday wishes to Sue. Can't wait to celebrate with you tomorrow!! And this weekend. Love you and have a very happy day.
