some thing to make | cafe du monde's cafe au lait. i brought back some coffee from new orleans and want to brew a pot this weekend with some steamed milk. hopefully bobby can get a taste of the famous street cafe. i also brought back some beignet mix and we may fry some up as well. i'll need to buy a lot of powdered sugar first.
some thing to share | speaking of new orleans i have a ton of photos to share and am working on a blog post with some details of what we did. of course i have lots of food photos as well. will get them posted next week if you're interested in checking that out.
some thing to listen to | anyone else obsessed with the
serial podcast? it's fascinating. i've been listening to it while i do things on the computer or around the house or in the car on the way to pick up the kids and i am hooked. i have a serial page in my daily notebook where i take notes of names and situations so i can keep it all straight. i'm only on episode 5 so please no spoilers.
some thing to read | while i was in new orleans, actually just on the plane ride to and from, i read
yes please by amy poehler and i loved it. it's funny and touching, hysterical and emotional, light but insightful. it made me want to watch old snl skits as she talked about what was going on in her life during that time. i was sitting in my row on the airplane reading this and i wanted to laugh out loud at one point but had to keep it to myself. great, and very fast read.
some thing to purchase | the super cute
starbucks mugs. i bought
one for my sister in law's birthday and
one for me. they make great gifts. you can even add a starbucks gift card with it. and while you're there try the chestnut praline latte - non fat and no whip to cut calories. yummy!
some thing i'm working on | finishing up my some mini albums so i can get started on my
december daily album. this is one project that i have done for the past few years and love! i'll share this year's in december.
some thing to inspire | "
The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can." Neil Gaiman
have a great weekend!
